TEAMS:
Just who is Karl Hess? You probably better know him as the referee that threw North Carolina State alums Tom Gugliotta and Chris Corchiani out of a game.
NC State fans had a big problem with this. They basically gave the ACC offices a really hard time, as they felt that Hess stepped out-of-bounds, so to speak. The conference chose to reprimand Hess, publicly and remove him from his next game involving the Wolfpack. Hess did not want to be a distraction this week, and asked to not be apart of the tournament.
His peers have found a way for him to reach the court this weekend, or at least his initials. Jamie Lucky, Mike Eades and Bernie Clinton all put white tape on their shoes and wrote KH with black marker on the tape.
After working 9 previous ACC tournaments, Hess elected to work at the Big East Tournament this week.
