Louisville junior guard Wayne Blackshear has had high expectations since arriving on campus.
Unfortunately the Chicago native has had a tough road with two serious shoulder surgeries since 2011.
Blackshear is finally 100% healthy, not only physically, but mentally as well. Rick Pitino has spoke very highly of Blackshear throughout the offseason and expects a solid season from the former McDonalds All American.
The recent suspension of forward Chane Behanan will require the entire roster to step up in his absence, however Blackshear in particular is expected to fill Behanan’s void.
Rick Pitino said during last week’s press conference that he’ll move Wayne to the power forward position while Behanan serves his suspension.
At 6-foot-5, 230-poudnds, Blackshear isn’t your typical power forward. However, he’s more than confident at stepping up and playing whatever position the team needs him to.
“Wherever they put me, I’m ready,” Blackshear said following...

The offseason emergence from Louisville sophomore forward Montrezl Harrell is something I’ve never seen before. Despite only playing 16 minutes per game as a true freshman, Harrell has been named a Preseason Second Team All American by USA Today and is projected to be a lottery pick in the 2014 NBA Draft.
Although areas of his game are still a little raw, given his unbelievable...
With Chane Behanan being indefinitely suspended from the Louisville men’s basketball program and no longer living in Minardi Hall with his teammates, many have wondered what exactly he’s up to while trying to earn his way back on the team.
I’m unsure of what exactly Behanan’s new day-to-day routine consists of, but apparently he’s been spending some time at Starbucks...
With college basketball right around the corner, teams continue to come out with new looks for the upcoming season. The Louisville Cardinals aren’t radically changing their uniforms for 2013-14 (that we know of yet, at least), but the Cards will be sporting a nice new jersey patch. The defending national champs unveiled a special logo celebrating the school’s 100th basketball...

In the two press conferences that he’s had since losing to Central Florida on Friday, Louisville head coach Charlie Strong has been very complementary of George O’Leary’s team. However, although he’s give credit to the Knights for giving his team their first loss, Coach Strong has also maintained that the Cards simply gave the game away.
“It’s hard to move on,” Strong...
After a weekend of pure carnage across the college football landscape it didn't feel right to hit you with our normal analysis and give one team a dose of Monday Medicine, so we're trying something different today: all Monday Medicine, all day. Every single Top 25 team that went down this weekend is coming to the pharmacy and leaving with a bag of orange bottles, then we...
Whatever minuscule chance Louisville ever had at qualifying for the 2014 BCS National Championship Game was all but vanquished when the Cardinals lost to unranked UCF this past Friday, 38-35. But according to Louisville coach Charlie Strong, the team never had a shot in the first place because of its weak schedule. Via The Courier-Journal‘s Steve Jones:
Charlie Strong on BCS standings...

More than two years after opening their investigation into the University of Miami, the NCAA finally released their sanctions on Tuesday morning.
Miami’s football program will not receive a bowl ban but will lose nine scholarships. Various reports this morning say that the NCAA has levied a two-year show-cause penalty against Louisville defensive line coach Clint Hurtt, who previously...

Charlie Strong and the Louisville Cardinals have dropped ten spots in both national polls. Earlier today we found out that Louisville fell from 8-to-18 in the AP Poll. The USA Today Coaches Poll was recently released and revealed that Louisville has fallen from 6-to-16.
The first BCS rankings of the season will be released later this evening. These will be the rankings...
University of Louisville running back Dominique Brown accounted for a career best 129 yards of offense in the Cardinals 38-35 loss to UCF on Friday night.
One bright spot for the University of Louisville in the loss to Central Florida on Friday night was the play of junior wide receiver Eli Rogers. He had the best game of his season in the contest.
