2013 continues to be a banner year for Louisville head basketball coach Rick Pitino. On Monday morning The American Advertising Federation named Pitino as the recipient of its 2013 Louisvillian of the Year award.
According to WDRB.com, Pitino will receive his award at a luncheon in his honor on Friday, August 23 at The Olmsted in Louisville. A panel of previous honorees selects the winner for this annual award. Previous winners include: Bernard M. Trager, , James R. Ramsey, Stan Curtis, Muhammad Ali, Tom Jurich, Ulysses Bridgeman, Jr. and Mary H. Griffith.

Pitino received confirmation that he would be welcomed with the 2013 class of the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame.
Pitino and his wife celebrated their 37th anniversary.
