On Sunday September 8, Louisville basketball coach Rick Pitino will be in Springfield, MA., to be enshrined in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. Pitino found out in early April that he will be officially be a part of the hall-of-fame’s 2013 class. He is one of twelve members. Once you’ve been added to the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame, you must select a current hall-of-famer to introduce you at the official ceremony.   According to Kent Taylor of Wave 3 news, Pitino will be introduced by former coach Hubie Brown and longtime ESPN analyst Dick Vitale. Brown is part of the 2005 hall-of-fame class and Vitale was added in 2008. I’m not exactly sure how close of a relationship that Pitino has with Vitale on a personal level, but nobody pushed harder for him to get into the hall-of-fame that Dickie V. Pitino was an assistant coach under Hubie Brown with the New York Knicks from 1983-85.
