Russ Smith made a pretty phenomenal improvement from freshman to sophomore season. Seven games into the 2012-13 season, it’s hard to argue that Russ hasn’t made an ever bigger improvement from sophomore to junior year. In seven games this year, Russ is averaging 19.9 points and 3 steals per game. His overall improvement hasn’t gone unnoticed as he is now being mentioned as a potential first round pick in the 2013 NBA Draft. Giovany published his updated 2013 mock draft last night and has Russ Smith projected as 28th pick in the first round.
