The Kentucky Wildcats went undefeated in the SEC during the regular season and are one magical moment away from being undefeated overall.

Today, in the SEC Championship Game, Kentucky faces the final hurdle in its path towards ultimate single-season SEC supremacy: Kevin Stallings’ Vanderbilt Commodores.

SEC Championship Game Info
  • Matchup: #1 Kentucky v #3 Vanderbilt
  • Time: 1:00 ET
  • TV: ABC
  • Point Spread: Kentucky -8
  • Over/Under: 137.5
  • Season Series: Kentucky won 69-63 at Vandy, 83-74 in Lexington

Anthony Davis, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, and the Kentucky Wildcats can put the finishing touches on a perfect SEC season this afternoon.

SEC Championship Game Prediction

I would not have been surprised if Kentucky had stumbled in the first couple rounds of the SEC Tournament. John Calipari isn’t a big fan of the tourney, and Kentucky’s goals are much loftier than winning this tournament, especially after proving their conference dominance during the regular season.

But now that they are in the title game, I think the Wildcats will be properly motivated and focused and beat Vanderbilt for the third time this season.

For Vandy to win, they need to do what any team must do to beat Kentucky: make 3s, get Anthony Davis into foul trouble, and hope Terrence Jones doesn’t show up. If those three things happen, Vandy can win. If not, Kentucky will simply out-talent the Commodores all the way to the SEC Tournament Title. I think that’s what happens.
