San Francisco State basketball player Decensae White is currently being held in the Fulton County Jail in Atlanta, awaiting a court appearance on Friday for a murder charge. White, 25, was reportedly arrested earlier this month in the Bay Area and extradited to Georgia for a 2012 murder in which he was allegedly involved. The alleged details of the slaying are bizarre, if not interesting. Did we mention the Russian mob is allegedly involved? Yeah, the Russian mob is allegedly involved. From the San Mateo County Times: White and four others, including a Russian mobster, are charged in the July 7, 2012, slaying of Melvin Vernell III, who rapped under the name Lil Phat, according to the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office. Vernell, 19, was gunned down by two men at a hospital in Sandy Springs, which is about an hour north of Atlanta, as his girlfriend was preparing to give birth.
