Tennessee Vols basketball lands big-time player from NCAA transfer portal
Bryan Lynn-USA TODAY Sports

The Tennessee Vols' roster for the 2024-25 season started taking shape on Monday afternoon.

According to On3, Hofstra transfer forward Darlinstone Dubar committed to Tennessee on Monday.

Dubar averaged 17.6 points and 6.8 rebounds per game this past season.

The Vols have already lost several players to the transfer portal (Freddie Dilione V, Jonas Aidoo, and Tobe Awaka), along with the players they're losing due to running out of eligibility (Dalton Knecht, Josiah-Jordan James, and Santiago Vescovi).

The addition of Dubar will help fill the scoring void left behind by those players (Dubar was one of the most efficient scorers in college basketball last season).

Dubar, who made 71 three-pointers in 2023-24, is a former four-star recruit who initially signed with Iowa State out of high school.
