FORT WORTH – Connor Lammert is growing up this year.
The freshman from San Antonio scored 13 points, pulled down seven rebounds, and tipped in the go-ahead basket, as Texas defeated TCU, 68-59 in Big-12 play on Tuesday for the Longhorns’ first road win of the season.
Ioannis Papapetrou knocked down three triples and led the Longhorns with 15. Myck Kabongo scored 12 points, and added seven assists in his third outing back from a 23-game NCAA suspension.
Lammert’s tip-in broke a 48-all tie to give Texas (12-14, 4-9 ) the lead for good. The Longhorns, which was 0-7 on the road this year, never actually trailed. The Horned Frogs last chance to tie came after Lammert’s tip-in, but Nate Butler Lind missed two free ones.
Lammert answered with another bucket, as Texas lead by four, 52-48.
