Everyone has an opinion on which team is going to win tonight’s National Championship Game between Louisville and Michigan, and the writers on College Spun’s staff are no different. Without further ado, here are our staff’s picks for the big game: London Alpeter – UNC Campus Rep - Michigan has covered every game this tourney, but Louisville gets the best of the Wolverines here. Peyton Siva and Russ Smith cancel out Trey Burke and Tim Hardaway Jr, and Dieng has a bigger game than McGary. Louisville wins. Tyler Greenawalt – Syracuse – Everything has come together this year for the Cardinals: a Big East Championship, a veteran-led dominating front court and back court, and then the emotional push of the Kevin Ware injury. These things, plus one of the stingiest defenses in the NCAA will prove too much for a Michigan offense that struggled against the SU zone.   Matt Stypulkoski – UConn – The NCAA Tournament is a fluky thing. One hot-streak or one player catching fire can make all the difference. Trey Burke has been that player so far this year, and his Kemba-like run will continue tonight as Michigan grabs the title. Sorry, no dual titles for the Cardinals. Tyler Moorehead – Notre Dame Campus Rep – Louisville wins 75-66. The athleticism of the Cardinals will be too much for Burke and the rest of the Wolverines to handle. If Gorgui Dieng can control the paint against Mitch McGary, this one could get ugly. The Big East as we know it leaves touting a national champion. Katie Van Veghel – Tennessee Campus Rep – I pick Louisville. Even without Ware, players like walk-on Tim Henderson have really stepped up. Henderson hit back-to-back 3-pointers that completely took the momentum away from Wichita State. Luke Hancock also had 20 points in the game against the Shockers. Most see Kentucky as the Wildcat’s property, but I think Louisville is hungry to prove that it’s not just Big Blue’s state. Matt Hundley – Missouri – Louisville has the best defense in the nation, but I think Michigan has the offense and the talent to beat it. Trey Burke is the best player in the nation and will end his year with the national championship in hand. Mitch McGary has stepped up as of late, and I think his hot play continues in a Wolverine victory. Tim Fontenault – UConn Campus Rep – This one is a tossup tonight, but I have seen Louisville play enough times this year to know that the Cardinals will win tonight. My guess is that it will be a typical Louisville game, meaning Peyton Siva will go to the bench in early foul trouble, then he will come back and the full-court press will suffocate Michigan. As we have seen often this season, no lead, however large, is safe against the Cardinals. Annie Dunbar – Kentucky Campus Rep – Louisville will win tonight because the Cardinals have a team that’s based on brotherhood – especially after Kevin Ware’s injury, U of L has more heart and more will to win which will push it to the top. As for actual basketball analysis, Louisville’s defensive pressure will shut down Trey Burke and the Michigan offense. Also, it’s high time Peyton Siva gets his storybook ending in his final season as a Cardinal.     Ricky Darling – Ohio State Campus Rep – I’m going with Louisville since I don’t think I’m allowed to pick Michigan. Plus I think they’re the better team, and Kevin Ware – how can I root against him! The Cardinals get the confetti.   Antonio Venegas – Ohio State – As a Buckeye, I think it’s pretty obvious who I want to win this game. Louisville showed a lot of toughness in its comeback win against the Shockers. I also think the press gives Michigan a lot of problems, and I think that pressure will be too much to overcome. Louisville in a tight game, 64-60.   Ben Glidden – Syracuse Campus Rep – I really like Michigan to come out on top. I don’t think Trey Burke and company will be phased by the Louisville pressure and I think Dieng will meet his match when Mitch McGary comes around.   Marisa Martin – Alabama Campus Rep – Michigan will win tonight’s game. Not just because I picked them to make the championship in my bracket, but because I’m from Ohio and contrary to popular belief, I love seeing Ohio State fans in misery. Go Blue.    Chris Lilly – Missouri – Louisville will be tonight’s winner in the National Championship. Rick Pitino is looking to win a championship with two different teams, the first being Kentucky in 1996. Look for Pitino to out coach Michigan’s John Beilein – and no late game heroics for Trey Burke this time.    Jeremy Fuster – USC – Michigan is peaking at the right time. McGary and Burke will capitalize on every turnover Louisville makes to get the edge. As long as Michigan’s starters stay out of foul trouble, they should have the advantage. Michigan 73, Louisville 69.   Rich Fogel – Temple – I think Louisville will win tonight because of their superior press defense and their deeper roster. It is in the cards for the cardinals to win tonight, they were the best team all year and will put that on display tonight. 75-70 Louisville.   Amit Batra – West Virginia Campus Rep – I believe Louisville will come away victorious tonight. Russ Smith and Luke Hancock will come up big in the closing moments of the game.      And of course, the most sound analysis of all:   Lauren Walson – Michigan State Campus Rep – Louisville because I could never cheer for UofM, EVER!    College Spun has spoken. Who do you have tonight?
