Inside the Hall:
Thoughts on a 86-57 win over the Wildcats:
I. It was enough that Maurice Creek, for all his body’s endured (broken knee caps and a torn Achilles), even stepped out onto the Assembly Hall court this evening. But after the warm reception from the IU faithful which included a quick chant of his name upon checking in, Creek scored to tie the game. He hit a three to give Indiana its first lead. He nailed a runner. Eight points in seven minutes of first half action. It didn’t stop there. Creek knocked down another 3-pointer in the second half and connected on two free throws. He even registered a block. Creek led all Indiana scorers — this vaunted, much buzzed about offense — with 12 points.
Raise your hand if you called this one before the game.
It’s too early to say if this ends up as an anomaly or a sign of things to come. But damn if it wasn’t heartwarming to see.
II. This much was known before Yogi Ferrell’s debut: The young man is a blur with the ball, has excellent vision and passi...

Maurice Creek got off the bench and walked toward the Assembly Hall scorer’s table with just over 11 minutes left in the first half of Thursday night’s exhibition game against Indiana Wesleyan. Creek checked in with the official scorer, then waited patiently for the moment he’s been thinking about for more than 20 months — the moment he’d walk back onto Branch McCracken...
Maurice Creek scored 12 points and four other Hoosiers reached double figures as No. 1 Indiana routed Indiana Wesleyan 86-57 in Thursday night's exhibition game.
It's the only exhibition game Indiana plays this season. The Hoosiers open the regular season next Friday against Bryant.
For Creek, it was his first game action since Jan. 15, 2011, when he was diagnosed with...
Indiana freshmen Hanner Mosquera-Perea and Peter Jurkin have yet to be cleared to play by the NCAA and Tom Crean was asked to provide an update on their status following Thursday’s 86-57 exhibition win over Indiana Wesleyan.
The process of determining the eligibility for both players is still ongoing based on Crean’s comments.
“What I can say about that is that we go through...
1. Indiana forced 18 turnovers in a 69 possession game (26%). Last season IU was 167th in the nation, forcing turnovers on 20.2% of opponents possessions. Last year the Hoosiers forced at least a 26% turnover rate against seven opponents, and none in conference play.
2. Point guard Yogi Ferrell is going to be a big part of Indiana's success (or lack thereof) this season....
With No. 1 Indiana’s one and only exhibition game set for Thursday night at Assembly Hall, here are some things to watch for in the Hoosiers’ first game action of the year.
1. Starting lineup
It has been one of the most discussed and debated topics during the offseason, and we’ll finally get some answers on Thursday night. Who is going to start?
I continue to maintain that...
Indiana associate head coach Steve McClain, freshman guard Yogi Ferrell and junior guard Victor Oladipo met with the media earlier this afternoon to preview Thursday’s exhibition game with Indiana Wesleyan.
Watch and listen to both press conferences in the embedded media players below:
Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis scored 14 of her 24 points in the first half to lead No. 2 UConn to a 105-28 win over Indiana University, Pa. in an exhibition game Friday night.
Freshman Breanna Stewart, the high school national player of the year added 15 points, eight rebounds and four blocks in her Huskies' debut. UConn had six players score in double figures.
UConn played without...
Getting two weeks to prepare for what essentially becomes a play-in game for the Big Ten Championship, Wisconsin has used its bye week to get healthy and get a head start in its preparation for the Indiana Hoosiers.
The University of Indiana has enjoyed success recruiting Louisiana prospects in the secondary. The Hoosiers signed Michael Hunter out of West Monroe a couple of years ago, and now Indiana is checking out 2014 CB/RB Daniel Lewis (Hawaii offer) from down south...
STORRS – The Connecticut women will play their first exhibition game against Indiana University (Pa.) on Friday night, but they will be without All-American guard Bria Hartley.
