Rick Pitino and the 12th ranked Louisville Cardinals will look to bounce back tonight from their five overtime loss to Notre Dame over the weekend as they host the St. John’s Red Storm. Louisville opened as a 19-point favorite, but that line has quickly dropped the 17.
Louisville leads the all time series 10-4 and has won six of the last seven meetings between the two schools. St. John’s last win against Louisville came in 2010 in Madison Square Garden.
St. John’s had a rough start to the season, but has been playing very well as of late. They’ve won six of their last eight games, including wins over Notre Dame and UConn. St. John’s has an RPI of 52 and a win over a team like Louisville would likely place them on the bubble for the NCAA tournament.
The Red Storm are coming off a 58-77 loss at Syracuse on Sunday. They played that game without their head coach, Steve Lavin, who was out due to the death of his father. He won’t be coaching tonight as well.
