Top 25 roundup: Texas Tech stuns No. 6 Texas

Senior De'Vion Harmon tallied a career-high 25 points, capped by a huge bucket with 34 seconds to play, as Texas Tech held on for a 74-67 upset of No. 6 Texas on Monday in Lubbock, Texas.

Texas Tech (14-12, 3-10 Big 12) won its third game over a nationally-ranked opponent in a span of 15 days, with all of those contests coming at home. The Red Raiders led by nine points at halftime and were up 55-42 six minutes into the second half before Texas roared back to tie the game at 64 on Dylan Disu's 3-pointer with 4:16 to play.

Texas Tech answered with two dunks by Kevin Obanor sandwiched around a second-chance layup by Fardaws Aimaq to go back up by six points. The Longhorns got within 70-67 when Disu made 1 of 2 foul shots with 1:03 to go, but Harmon's layup all but sealed the win.

Obanor added 19 points while Aimaq finished with 12 points and eight rebounds for the Red Raiders. Marcus Carr led the Longhorns (20-6, 9-4) with 23 points and six assists. Disu had 11 points and nine rebounds as Texas fell into a first-place tie with Baylor in the Big 12 standings.

No. 9 Baylor 79, West Virginia 67

LJ Cryer drilled eight 3-pointers and scored a game-high 26 points, and the Bears pulled away from the Mountaineers in the second half for a win in Waco, Texas.

Cryer was 8 of 11 from behind the arc for Baylor (20-6, 9-4 Big 12), which converted 14 of 27 3-point tries as a team. Adam Flagler added 13 points while Jalen Bridges scored 12 and reserve Jonathan Tchamwa Tchatchoua put up 11.

Emmitt Matthews Jr. scored 17 points for West Virginia (15-11, 4-9), and Joe Toussaint added 11 off the bench. However, it wasn't enough for the Mountaineers to avoid back-to-back losses in three days.

No. 15 Miami 80, North Carolina 72

Jordan Miller scored 24 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as the Hurricanes beat the Tarheels in Chapel Hill, N.C.

It was just the second double-double of the season for Miller, who shot 9 of 14 from the floor. Nijel Pack nearly matched Miller's scoring total for Miami (21-5, 12-4 Atlantic Coast Conference), pouring in 23 points on 7-of-11 shooting. North Carolina (16-10, 8-7) has now lost four of its last five games. RJ Davis led the Tar Heels with 23 points while Caleb Love added 20.

Miami took a one-point lead into halftime thanks to a 3-pointer from Pack. In the second half, the Canes would pull ahead by as many as 14 points following a 15-2 run in which Pack had nine points. North Carolina battled and cut the lead down to four points with 36 seconds left after a 3-pointer from Love, but never got any closer.
