Top-rated 2024 prospect Cooper Flagg plans first three official visits

Forward Cooper Flagg is planning his first three official visits to Duke, Kansas and UConn, according to a Wednesday tweet from On3 National recruiting expert Joe Tipton.

Flagg is the top-rated prospect in the 2024 recruiting class, according to 247Sports. He reclassified from the 2025 to the 2024 class earlier this month. The Montverde Academy forward holds offers from Duke, UConn, Iowa, Kansas, Kansas State, Michigan, Providence, Texas, UCF, UCLA, Villanova and West Virginia, according to 247Sports.

Flagg already took an unofficial visit to Duke at the beginning of the month, 247Sports national basketball analyst Travis Branham wrote in a Wednesday article.

"Cooper Flagg is an elite two-way prospect," 247Sports director of scouting Adam Finkelstein wrote in a July scouting report. "His instincts are off the charts on both ends of the floor and he competes with a quiet type of killer instinct."

Duke's 2024 recruiting class already features five-star forward Isaiah Evans and four-star forward Darren Harris. The Blue Devils' 2024 class is currently in ninth place in the country. It took spots ahead of UConn, NC State and Syracuse.

Flagg would have the opportunity to continue Duke's tradition of landing five-star prospects if he committed to the Blue Devils. Guard Jared McCain and forward TJ Power committed in 2023. One-and-dones guard Dariq Whitehead (Brooklyn Nets) and center Dereck Lively II (Dallas Mavericks) — both of whom were drafted in the first round of the 2023 NBA Draft — joined the squad in 2022. Orlando Magic forward and reigning NBA Rookie of the Year Paolo Banchero committed to Duke's 2021 class.

Kansas earned the commitment of former Michigan center Hunter Dickinson in May. The three-year Wolverine joined guards Arterio Morris and Nicolas Timberlake and forward Parker Braun as 2023 transfers for the Jayhawks. Flagg would be another talented addition to Kansas's 2024 class after five-star center Flory Bidunga committed to the team's 2024 recruiting class.

Adding a player of Flagg's caliber would help continue UConn's streak of excellence with head coach Dan Hurley after the Huskies won a national championship in 2023. He would join four-star recruits Ahmad Nowell and Isaiah Abraham in UConn's 2024 class.
