Indiana just put an abrupt closure on the Kelvin Sampson Era. The coach, who's battling NCAA sanctions, was fired early Thursday afternoon. He is accused of making improper phone calls to recruits. The Sportsfly crack-team of investigators (emphasis on crack) found a transcript of one of Sampson's calls to a recruit. Here is the exclusive transcript.
Phone Call (11:59PM): October 15, 2007
Sampson: "Hey...it's me."
Recruit: "Hello Coach Sampson, isn't it a little late for a call?"
Sampson: "Don't mind that...what are you wearing?"
Recruit: "Basketball shoes, man...I just came from practice. Wait. Why do you care?"
Sampson: "I was just thinking of you."
Recruit: "About my scholarship and full-ride you're going to give me?"
Sampson: "That's cute...you said full-ride."
Recruit: "Hey Coach, that ain't funny man, and why are you slurring?"
Sampson: "Sippin on some sizzurp, baby!"
