UConn senior point guard Shabazz Napier was named to the American Athletic Conference first team on Tuesday. Huskies freshman center Amida Brimah was named to the all-freshman team.
Napier, a Wooden Award finalist, led UConn with 17.8 points per game this season, good for second in the conference. He also led the team in steals and assists.
Joining Napier on the first team were guards Sean Kilpatrick (Cincinnati), Russ Smith (Louisville) and Nic Moore (Southern Methodist). Louisville forward Montrezl Harrell rounded out the first team.
Brimah was the runaway leader on the team with 77 blocks while averaging 4.0 points and 2.8 rebounds.
