After the news broke that Kyle Wiltjer is looking to leave the Kentucky Wildcats, his name immediately started trending on Twitter – his possible departure took Big Blue Nation and the college basketball world by complete surprise. Naturally, fans went to Twitter to express their emotions in several ways. First, the state of shock:   my #BBN boyfriend @kwiltj is TRANSFERRING. my heart is breaking. I can’t believe it. #pleasedontgo — Brianna (@heybriannaa) June 24, 2013 @kwiltj is it true your transferring man? Say it isn’t so ! — Roddy Shackleford (@JdotTerrell) June 24, 2013 Wiltjer leaving UK you might as well rip out my heart and stomp on it — Braedan Merriman (@braedan1818) June 24, 2013 After reality set in, UK fans decided to try to convince Wiltjer to stay:  DANGITMAN @kwiltj needs to stay at UK. Redshirt this year, workout with the football team all yr, then ball out next year… #iblamecanada — Luke Wynn (@LukeWynn55) June 24, 2013 If I drive to the Wildcat Lounge and play “Stay” on a boom box outside of Wiltjer’s window do you think he’ll come back? — Kristen Wilhite. (@KristenO_O) June 24, 2013 @kwiltj say it aint so Kyle! If you transfer, you’ll have to sit out entire year! You could have Ring #2 if you stay! #WeAreUK #BBN — John Justice (@EyewearMan) June 24, 2013 @kwiltj don’t you leave dam it! #BBN is where you belong! I think you need to put the 3-gogs on for awhile and just think this through #STAY — Jim Kennedy (@jimmyk45) June 24, 2013 All the #BBN nation needs to let @kwiltj know we want him to stay with us and play for UK ths up coming season. — John (@strodejohn) June 24, 2013 Does anyone think if I profess my man love for @kwiltj he’ll stay? — Jonathan Scott Oost (@uksbiggestfan) June 24, 2013 Then, finally, Kentucky supporters began to accept the news for what it is and started to wish Wiltjer the best of luck in the future: Good luck Kyle @kwiltj I wish you the best. It is your life and #BBN will support you. You have been a class act. You will always be Fam. — Brian C. Simpson (@Bcsimp1) June 24, 2013 Can’t forgot though what @kwiltj did for this program…we should always be grateful…best of luck wherever you go big man! — Andrew Thompson (@Athom30) June 24, 2013 There is no word on where Wiltjer is planning on transferring yet, but we will keep you updated. As always, if you think you have a better tweet, we’d love to hear from you – tweet us @CollegeSpun.
