After the news broke that Kyle Wiltjer is looking to leave the Kentucky Wildcats, his name immediately started trending on Twitter – his possible departure took Big Blue Nation and the college basketball world by complete surprise. Kentucky forward Kyle Wiltjer is transferring to find a ''significant'' role elsewhere.
The 6-foot-10 Wiltjer played with the Canadian national team this summer, posted a letter on Kentucky's athletic department website Monday afternoon, saying he will seek a situation to help him ''compete the way I know I can. ... wherever that may be.''
Kyle Wiltjer has played basketball at the University of Kentucky for the past two seasons. He played a prominent role in Kentucky’s 2012 national championship run and has spent his summer playing with the Canadian national team. Today, Wiltjer released this letter to the Big Blue Nation through UK Athletics, stating that he’s looking at potentially leaving UK.
