Trinity Hall scored a career-high 27 points and UMKC defeated Canisius 72-67 on Friday night. Hall made 12 of his 16 shots from the field for the Kangaroos (7-5), who have won six of their last seven. Kirk Korver and Reggie Chamberlain chipped in 10 points apiece for UMKC. Josiah Heath had 14 points and 18 rebounds for the Golden Griffins (1-8). Harold Washington and Alshwan Hymes each scored 12 points. Canisius led by 10 midway through the first half, but UMKC rallied and closed to within 31-30 at halftime. The Kangaroos shot 50 percent from the field after halftime, 41 percent overall, and built a 14-point lead with 13:35 to go. Canisius stayed in it by going 18 for 19 from the free-throw line in the game.
