UTEP coach Rodney Terry in critical condition at hospital after allergic reaction
Troy Babbitt-USA TODAY Sports

UTEP Miners head basketball coach Rodney Terry is in critical condition at a hospital in Miami after suffering an allergic reaction on Wednesday night.

UTEP was in Miami to face Florida International for its conference opener on Thursday, which the Miners lost 69-67. Terry was hospitalized after the allergic reaction, and assistant Kenton Paulino coached the team against FIU.

Terry initially was reportedly expected to be released from the hospital, but a subsequent report said the coach would remain in the hospital on Thursday night.

Terry, 51, is in his second season as UTEP’s head coach. He previously coached at Fresno State for seven seasons.
