Juvonte Reddic scored 20 points and Virginia Commonwealth defeated William & Mary 87-78 on Wednesday night for their eighth straight win. The Rams are in a three-way tie for first place in the Colonial Athletic Association with Drexel and George Mason, which lost to Delaware on Wednesday. Rob Brandenburg added 17 points, Troy Daniels had 16 and Treveon Graham 13 for the Rams (19-5, 10-2), who shot 53.2 percent (33 of 62) from the field. VCU built an 18-point lead at 57-39 after a jumper by Darius Theus with 14:47 left to play. A dunk by Marcus Thornton with 2:29 to play trimmed the deficit to 77-70 but William & Mary would get no closer. The Rams dominated close to the basket, outscoring the Tribe 44-24 in the paint. Thornton scored 28 points and Brandon Britt added 18 for the Tribe (4-20, 2-10), who have lost seven consecutive games.
