Michigan basketball (17-1, 4-1), fresh off of their first loss of the season, traveled into hostile territory on Thursday night and systematically took apart the #9 ranked Minnesota Golden Gophers (15-3, 3-2). A 17-point first half by Tim Hardaway, Jr. made sure a 1st half like the one played out in Columbus was not to be repeated. Michigan poured it on in the 2nd half and came away...
#5 ranked Michigan Basketball (16-1, 3-1) suffered their first loss of the season on Sunday at Ohio State. Things don’t get any easier for the Wolverines on Thursday as they will play at #9 Minnesota in The Barn, which is a very hostile environment. Tip off is scheduled for 7:03 pm and the game will be televised on ESPN. The broadcast crew will be Dan Shulman, Dick Vitale and...
Well this really sucks. After a week of waiting and hoping and dreaming and getting all tingly thinking about a possible and historic Gophers victory, the team goes out and lays a giant egg. Not like they got embarrassed or run out of their own gym, but it was a particularly close loss either. And [...]
One score and 16 years ago, midway through the Big Ten season, the #10 Golden Gophers played the #5 Michigan Wolverines, and lost a heart breaker 86-80. It was the last time two top 10 teams played each other in The Barn. On Thursday we get to do it all over again. After two miracle comebacks fell just short, both Minnesota and Michigan hope to stay in second place in the Big Ten...
Michigan, like many other high-major basketball teams, played few true road games during its non-conference slate. The Wolverines traveled to Peoria, Ill. to take on Bradley in the hopes of giving the team a taste of a tough road environment. Before that game, Beilein outlined his hopes for using this road game as a simulation of a Big Ten road environment.

“I really think that today was a great day for us to understand how good our defense can be. Early we set a tone, a really good defense to get a lead. Because we got transition...
Glenn Robinson III has been one of the most exciting freshman on Michigan’s basketball team. He has thrown down hard on dunks all year, but none may be as impressive as this dunk. He had a wide open look at the hoop and rather than casually dunk it, he went in for the 360 slam. You can guarantee this will be on Sportscenter’s Top Ten.Glenn Robinson III looking like the...
(AP) Trey Burke and Michigan can put aside for now the idea of being ranked No. 1 in the country.
An undefeated start to the season? That's over too after the Wolverines sputtered last weekend at Ohio State.
Now, the focus is on a Big Ten schedule that will test Burke and his teammates plenty more over the next few weeks. No. 5 Michigan plays at No. 9 Minnesota on Thursday...
(AP) — Trey Burke and Michigan can put aside for now the idea of being ranked No. 1 in the country. An undefeated start to the season? That's over too after the Wolverines sputtered last weekend at Ohio State. Now, the focus is on a Big Ten schedule that will test Burke and his teammates plenty more over the next few weeks. No. 5 Michigan plays at No. 9 Minnesota on Thursday night.
The No. 5 ranked Michigan Wolverines took down the No. 9 ranked Minnesota Golden Gophers last night 83-75. The impressive victory was lead by Tim Hardaway Jr. who scored
21 points. The highlight of the night also came from a former NBA players son in Glenn Robinson
III. Robinson had a nasty 360-degree dunk that I'm not even sure his dad could have pulled off. Check...
Michigan will look to bounce back from its loss at Ohio State on the road at Minnesota while facing off against yet another top 15 foe. A road win would be pivotal at this early stage for the Wolverines but Minnesota also enters the match-up looking to recover from a recent loss at Indiana. Tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. (eastern) on ESPN with Dick Vitale, Dan...
