PLAYERS: Jeff Withey
TEAMS:
This week’s Video of the Week is dedicated to none other than Anthony Davis. The future number one overall pick was only the second freshman to win the college Player of the Year award and then for good measure won the Final Four MVP award. Davis was a monster all season and really disrupted Thomas Robinson and Jeff Withey down low in the championship game. In fact, he blocked or altered 15.7% of two point field goals attempted by Kansas. However, this wasn’t even Anthony’s best post-season game. In what ended up being his last high school game, Davis scored 30 points, grabbed 19 rebounds, swatted 6 shots, had 5 steals, and 2 assists. Unfortunately, this performance came in a losing effort, in which his team only managed to score 53 points (meaning Davis scored around 60% of his team’s points. The Video of the Week consists of Davis’ highlights from this game, where he looks like a man among boys. I feel bad for anyone that ran into Anthony Davis in high school. -Langer

Calipari says he’s staying put and we should believe him

This shocks me more than it probably shocks you. I am not basing this belief on anything that John Calipari has said in the past. I believe that in the long run, he is full of lies and deceit. I believe that his eyes would be brown even if he wore blue contacts. However, when he says that he is staying put at Kentucky, I actually believe him 100%. You just knew that as soon as Coach...

The Kentucky Wildcats: 2012 NCAA Tournament Champions

Won and Done, indeed. Maybe even Over and Out. All that really matters is that Kentucky parlayed a roster full of NBA talent into a 67-59 victory Monday night over Kansas for the team’s eighth national NCAA basketball title – its first since 1998. Kentucky’s top freshman, Anthony Davis, had a rough shooting night, but John Calipari coached this team to a wire-to...

For the first time in 14 years, it’s Big Blue that can lay claim to being the final team standing in the Big Dance, as the Wildcats completed a 38 win season with an impressive win over a wily Kansas team that scratched and clawed, but ultimately fell short. Kentucky, led by a team...

Kansas Jayhawks future NBAers: Tyshawn Taylor, Jeff Withey

When it comes to future NBA players on the Kansas Jayhawks roster, it of course starts with Thomas Robinson, the go-to-guy and likely top 5 pick in June. Both have had their pluses and minuses highlighted and magnified on the...

Terrifying Sight for College Hoops Recruiting: John Calipari with a Ring

AP Photo Kentucky coach John Calipari finally won his first national title Monday night with a 67-59 victory over Kansas, and this could be bad news for Syracuse and the rest of the country. Coach Cal’s reputation precedes him. He has built title contenders and some of the most talented teams in the country with one-and-done high school stars. Holding to tradition, this Wildcats...
