CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) -- Coach Tony Bennett got the best of his alma mater as Virginia -- behind Mike Scott's 15 points and 10 rebounds and KT Harrell's 14 points -- defeated Green Bay 68-42 Friday night. Bennett, Green Bay's all-time leading scorer, was coaching against the Phoenix for the first time. He helped lead Green Bay to its first NCAA Tournament in 1991 while playing under his father, Dick Bennett. After struggling offensively in the recent Paradise Jam tournament, Virginia (5-1) came out smoking. The Cavaliers hit 10 of their first 15 shots and jumped out to a 27-7 lead. Green Bay cut the lead to 33-23 by halftime, but Virginia opened the second half with a 10-0 run capped by a pair of buckets from center Assane Sene. Sammy Zeglinski left the game with 12:03 remaining after appearing to aggravate an ankle injury. Keifer Sykes led Green Bay (2-4) with 11 points.
