The Wisconsin basketball team visited the Minnesota Golden Gophers in a battle of the B1G Conference and barely escaped with the win.

The Badgers came into Minnesota expecting a tough game and held a double-digit lead for quite some time against the Gophers. However, the Gophers crawled their way back into the game and lost by a basket after Tyler Wahl nailed two free throws in the final seconds.

The Badgers will now turn their focus towards their upcoming game against the Michigan State Spartans in Madison.

Wisconsin Basketball Survives Behind Tyler Wahl, AJ Storr Leading Badgers

Wisconsin was able to get off to a hot start in the first half, claiming a 14-point lead with six minutes left to go in the half. The Badgers ended the half up by ten points, 34-24, behind guards AJ Storr and Max Klesmit who both nailed multiple shots to give Wisconsin a lead. Storr in particular had a great first half creating open buckets for both himself and his teammates.

The second half of play was a different story for the Badgers as the Golden Gophers brought the game within one point, 41-40, five minutes into the half. Wisconsin struggled to rotate on defense and close out the open shots Minnesota took which ultimately allowed the Golden Gophers to make their way back into the game.

With the defense struggling and the offense hitting a wall, Wisconsin turned to veteran forward Tyler Wahl to help command the offense. Wahl scored 12 points and recorded two assists in the second half as he took over for the Wisconsin basketball team. His clutch free throws ended up giving the Badgers the win after Minnesota missed their final shot.

Wisconsin Basketball Guard Max Klesmit Continues Stellar Shooting Against Golden Gophers

One of the silent bright spots against the Golden Gophers for the Wisconsin basketball team was guard Max Klesmit. Klesmit nailed three shots from long range and scored 11 points while adding two steals to his line. The guard was able to lock it down at his position for the Badgers defensively against Minnesota while continuing to shoot the ball consistently well.

Over the last five games, Klesmit has scored 89 points for the Wisconsin basketball team with 17 three-point shots landing during that span. The guard scored 24 points in the win over the Northwestern Wildcats and dropped 26 points against the Indiana Hoosiers. Safe to say, Klesmit is currently feeling himself from the field and should continue to shoot while he is hot.

A Look Ahead: Wisconsin Badgers Basketball Hosts Michigan State Spartans

After suffering a tough loss to the Penn State Nittany Lions, Wisconsin basketball bounced back with a pair of wins. Now, the Badgers must face-off against the Michigan State Spartans next, whom they have beaten already earlier this season.

The Wisconsin Badgers basketball team should be able to defeat the Spartans once again if they continue to move the ball. The Badgers have begun to run the offense through whoever is hot, and that could prove to be an issue for the Spartans due to the success of multiple players.
