It may have been beaten to death already, but you really can’t overstate the importance of some players on a roster. One guy that doesn’t even start at Florida seems to have such a profound impact on the team when he is available, that his value may not ever be understood. Will Yeguete missed quite a few games this season, but is rounding into form and becoming a difference maker again.

It has been a remarkable basketball season for the Florida Gators of course with its peaks and valleys. With many more peaks than valleys for this SEC Championship team, head coach Billy Donovan has had the task of making sure his guys stayed focused heading into each and every game. The Gators climbed the ladder to cut down the nets at the O’Connell Center on Wednesday night to celebrate their second Southeastern Conference title in the last three years. Billy Donovan was excited about the accomplishment, but he realizes there’s still work to be done. The Gators have to get back in a rhythm with their injured players now back to full health.

There was no doubt the Gators would be losing Jon Bostic to graduation after the 2012 season. The surprise came when redshirt junior linebacker Jelani Jenkins decided to leave early and begin his professional career. The pair of three-year starters will be tough for Florida to replace. With a thin group of returners, the Gators also have three freshmen on campus for the spring.
