We’re under a month from the college basketball season, so that means it is preseason lists time. Scott King and I have collaborated to produce a Preseason Top 26 (because 25 would be too boring). We have split the 26 teams into six groups, and we’ll lead off with team 26, a former Pac-12 also-ran that is expected to make a big jump this year:
26. Utah (2013-14 record: 21-12...
A couple weeks ago the Buckeyes were on top of the world, undefeated, and the No. 3 team in the nation. Fast forward to the end of the month and they were on the verge of falling out of the top 25 after losing five of their last six. If there was ever a team in need of a big win it's them. With a game against No. 14 Wisconsin on tap Saturday a big win was there's for the taking...
Shannon Scott scored 13 points and sparked a decisive second-half run, and No. 10 Ohio State pulled away over cold-shooting No. 17 Marquette for a 52-35 win Saturday.
Sam Thompson also scored 13, while Aaron Craft added 10 for the Buckeyes (3-0), who ended the Golden Eagles' 27-game home winning streak, second-longest in the nation.
Ohio State slowly took control with a 12...

He was the Big Man on Campus at Milton High, the steady force behind three straight Georgia state-title game appearances. The son of former NBA player Charlie Scott was a McDonald's All-American, the higest honor among today's highly-touted recruits.
Shannon Scott worked hard to maximize those God-given gifts and basketball genes. But a funny thing -- or not so funny to Scott...
CHICAGO Ohio State probably has the best point guard still playing in the Big Ten tournament.
It certainly has two point guards who are collectively better than anybody else's one or two. And it's a lineup with both Aaron Craft and Shannon Scott on the floor that's helping the Buckeyes play their best basketball of the season right now.
Friday night, the No. 2 seed...
Although Indiana’s Victor Oladipo wasn’t his normal self on offense (7 points) he still made a difference on the defensive end. The Big Ten and National Player of the Year candidate, Oladipo had a shot block on Shannon Scott that not many in this world can make. With Ohio State win over Indiana in Bloomington on Tuesday night, 67-58, Michigan, Ohio State, Michigan State and Wisconsin...
Ohio State sophomore point guard Shannon Scott took the Buckeyes' 59-56 loss at Michigan State tough. After all, it was his missed shot in the final seconds that serves as the final memory from a missed opportunity for the Buckeyes. More on Scott, Craft's steals record, secondary scoring options and team notes inside.
Last season, Shannon Scott's timid nature was evident when he was on the floor. In the time since, the sophomore point guard has become one of the biggest weapons for the Ohio State basketball team. Now with his fast style and his inhibitions thrown to the wind, Scott is developing into the player Thad Matta envisioned when recruiting him.
With Jared Sullinger on the roster last season, Ohio State basketball coach Thad Matta did all that he could to surround the Buckeyes' philosophy around the All-American big man. It worked, as OSU advanced to its second Final Four in Matta's tenure. Without Sullinger this year, OSU will take a faster approach. That could start with Shannon Scott.
