Mentality holding back UCLA's Smith
As UCLA center Joshua Smith prepared to leave Oregon's Matthew Knight Arena last Saturday, his family members told him that he "didn't look happy" on the court.
As he sat in a chair and addressed the media inside UCLA's J.D. Morgan Center Press Room on Wednesday there was still a sense of him being glum.

UCLA's Jones, Powell questionable for Pac-12 opener
All coaches expect adversity during the course of a season, and welcome it as well. However through 12 games, the 2011-12 season, UCLAs Ben Howland has had enough.
Wed like to get rid of the adversity, said Howland. Weve had our fair share.
However, theres more.

UCLA dismisses Reeves Nelson from team
UCLA forward Reeves Nelson has been kicked off of the team by head coach Ben Howland.
It's been a rough start to the season for the Bruins (2-5) and an even rougher start for Nelson.

UCLA Forward Travis Wear Injures Foot While Snorkeling
Things are not looking up for the UCLA men’s basketball team. Their last two losses — in fairness — came against ranked opponents, but a 1-4 start is not exactly what the Bruins were hoping for to kick off the 2011-2012 season. To make matters worse, they became the latest victim of the weird injury [...]
