After losing the women’s basketball national championship to Baylor Tuesday night, Notre Dame women’s basketball coach Muffet McGraw had an interesting compliment (I think it’s a compliment) for Baylor star Brittney Griner. “She’s one of a kind. She’s, uh, she’s like a guy playing with women.” Now that may not seem inflammatory, but the internet has questioned Griner’s gender many times in the last couple games. I can guarantee you that she wouldn’t have brought up the man vs. woman aspect if Griner was a cute little 5’7″ guard. I won’t go there, but I guess I don’t have to because Muffet McGraw did it for me. McGraw went on to say that Griner is the best (women’s) post player she’s ever seen. Baylor finished the year 40-0 and became the first men’s or women’s team to go 40-0 in one season.
