Watch: South Carolina adds new spin to classic postgame celebration after clinching Final Four trip

A common celebration in sports is when a team dumps a cooler filled with Gatorade on its coach after it wins a big game. South Carolina added a twist to this.

After Sunday's 70-58 Elite Eight victory over the Oregon State Beavers, the Gamecocks dumped Confetti on head coach Dawn Staley.

"I like Confetti," she told ESPN's Holly Rowe. Perhaps she appreciated that they didn't dump Gatorade on her.

Staley is making her sixth Final Four appearance in her 16th season at South Carolina. This might be one of her best coaching jobs, as the Gamecocks (36-0) lost five starters from last season.

"Dawn Staley is incredible," wrote The Athletic's Cameron Teague Robinson. "To lose so much production from last year's Final Four team, retool the roster, still be nine to 10 players deep on the bench and make it back to the Final Four undefeated … there's nobody better right now. What she's built at South Carolina is incredibly special."

Against Oregon State, South Carolina nearly blew a 14-point lead. It also nearly blew a 22-point lead in the Sweet 16 against Indiana. Staley acknowledged holding on to leads is something the team must work on before it faces North Carolina State or Texas on Friday.

"It's about just being able to play to the habits that you've created all season long," Staley said, per ESPN's Michael Voepel. "And when they go haywire, you're just trying to, in real time, make adjustments. That's what it's about at this stage of the game."

Still, South Carolina is well positioned to win its third title under Staley. As of Sunday, FanDuel gives the Gamecocks the best national title odds (-220).
