Cordarrelle Patterson is a sure-fire first rounder in this year’s NFL Draft.  However, it wasn’t an easy road for the young man.  Patterson started his college football career at Hutchinson Community College in Kansas before playing at the University of Tennessee.  Patterson has the vitals and the athleticism to become a good wide receiver in the NFL, but only time will tell. Vitals Height: 6-3Weight: 205Position: Wide ReceiverSchool: TennesseeClass: 2013 College ProductionCordarrelle Patterson basically pulled a Cam Newton.  After two seasons at a junior college, he made his way to Knoxville to play for the Volunteers, but after only one season, he decided to leave for the NFL.  He exploded onto the college football scene catching 6 passes for 93 yards with a 41-yard touchdown reception, and he also had a 67-yard touchdown run on a nationally televised game against N.C. State. He finished the 2012 season with a Tennessee record for all-purpose yards with 1,858 while scoring 10 total touchdowns.Receptions: 46Receiving Yards: 778Yards Per Catch: 16.9Receiving TDs: 5Rushes: 25Rushing Yards: 308Yards Per Rush: 12.3Rushing TDs: 3Kickoff Returns: 24Kick Return Yards: 674Yards Per KR: 28.0KR TDs: 1Punt Returns: 4Punt Return Yards: 101Yards Per PR: 25.3PR TDs: 1StrengthsAt 6’3” and 205 pounds, Patterson is a physical specimen.  He’s been clocked at a 4.42 forty-yard dash and had a vertical jump of 37 inches at the Combine in February. Although he’s raw, he has the talent to become a talented wide out in the NFL with the right team. Patterson is a playmaker with great hands.  WeaknessesExperience, he only spent one year in the top level of college football; however he did do that in the Southeastern Conference. He needs to work on running his routes with efficacy and he needs to realize that the “big” play will not be there on every play.  Has problems with running before making the catch causing him to drop some passes.Potential Landing SpotsBuffalo, Cleveland, Denver, Green Bay, Miami, Minnesota, New England, N.Y. Jets, Pittsburgh, and Seattle are all looking for a wide receiver within the first three rounds of the Draft.Draft ProjectionHowever, I don’t think Patterson will make it to 2nd or 3rd round.  Look for him to go to the Cleveland Browns to select Patterson with the 6th overall selection.NFL ComparisonSidney Rice, but without the injuries.
