Another day, another example of ridiculous recruiting overkill.  5-star defensive tackle Matt Elam received 262 letters from Notre Dame in one single day, the same Matt Elam that received 182 letter earlier this year from the Kentucky Wildcats.  Notre Dame referred to it as his “pot of gold” and I’m guessing that this is a recruiting record for overkill.  His mailman must seriously hate both of these schools. Preview and Prediction: BYU vs Notre Dame

Week 13: BYU vs Notre Dame The Matchup: I view the BYU vs Notre Dame game this Saturday as the conference championship of sorts for the “independent conference”. All-time BYU is 2-5 against Notre Dame and hasn’t won since 2004. Both teams come in to the game at a respectable 7-3 this season. We should be in for a good contest with a real possibility of BYU coming away with...

Everett Golson Reapplies For Notre Dame

In May, it was revealed that Everett Golson was kicked out of school for cheating in the classroom. Everett Golson not too long ago admitted to cheating academically at Notre Dame. He sat down and did an interview with Sports Illustrated’s Andy Staples talking a little about what happened but ended the interview saying he wants to get back into school. According to Coach Brian...

Golson seeks readmission to school

Suspended Notre Dame quarterback Everett Golson has submitted a request to be readmitted to Notre Dame. Coach Brian Kelly said Tuesday he expects to learn in mid-December if Golson will be allowed to return. If he is admitted, Golson would be eligible to practice with the Irish for a bowl game but wouldn't be eligible to play. Golson, who led the Irish to the national title...

Notre Dame nose guard Louis Nix III underwent season-ending knee surgery Thursday. Nix met with the media Thursday evening, saying he underwent surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee after the pain became too much. He says he decided to undergo the surgery after talking to school doctors and getting a second opinion from Dr. James Andrews. The 6-foot-2, 349-pound senior...

Notre Dame nose tackle Louis Nix out with knee surgery

Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly announced that starting nose tackle Louis Nix had surgery on his knee for a torn meniscus and would be out the remainder of this year. A meniscus is the cartilage in the middle of the knee joint that cushions the area where upper and lower leg bones meet. At 6″-3″ and 357 lbs, the redshirt junior subjects his knees to a great deal of pressure. Nix...

Notre Dame LB Jaylon Smith To Wear No. 13 This Weekend To Honor Danny Spond On Senior Day

Earlier this year, Notre Dame senior linebacker Danny Spond called it quits on his football career after several years battling injuries and medical issues. The news was very sad for Irish fans — Spond was not only a key defender, but also a very respected leader and teammate in the locker room. Rather than simply hanging it up and transitioning to life as a non-athlete, Spond...

Did Louis Nix Slip Up And Imply That He Won’t Be Returning To Notre Dame?

Notre Dame star defensive tackle Louis Nix has toyed with Irish fans all season about whether he’ll be returning for his final year of eligibility on campus or moving on to an NFL career. Thursday night, he may have let his true intentions slip. Nix, who will miss the remainder of the season after tearing his meniscus, dropped a quote Thursday night that seems to imply that he’s...

When BYU hits the road to face the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame in South Bend this Saturday, Cougar safety Chris Badger will be returning to familiar grounds. The one-time Irish safety will return as a BYU Cougar safety to face his former teammates, and he looks forward to seeing some familiar faces.
