Found October 12, 2006 on Badger Herald Sports:
University of Wisconsin marching band is facing "virtual extinction" after a series of undisclosed incidents during last month's visit to Ann Arbor for the Badgers-Wolverines football game. UW's Chancellor, John C. Wiley, didn't go into details, but skimmed the surface saying "the behavior 'can be seen as anything from boorish and offensive to patently dangerous and unlawful.' [with] 'gratuitous vulgarity, sexualized banter and joking, hazing, or other forms of demeaning conduct.'" Key words here are patently dangerous. Only Wisconsin gets patents on their dangerous actions. Oh boy. The marching band is the lifeblood of the Badger's student section. There's dance moves and words to all the songs, cheer and jeers go with the beat. Most importantly, without the band there will be a dull student section that will give absolutely no energy to the team on the field. What a major blow to the Badger football program, stay tuned for more information as we get to the bottom of this.

First thing that comes to mind is the movie American Pie and band camp. And they say fraternities haze...

â€" Women being forced to kiss other women in order to gain access to bus bathrooms.
â€" Women being forced to draw pornographic pictures for older male band members, recite obscene limericks or stories, and read aloud explicit accounts of their sexual preferences composed for them by others for older male band members.
â€" The practice of women swapping shirts with males.
â€" Demeaning and abusive demands for younger band members to run errands and refill beer cups for older members.

The University wasn't about to put out a raunchy version of the events, but word will hit the streets of Madison real quickly.
