So last year Chad Ocho Cinco demanded a trade by appearing on every talk show under the sun and explicitly demanding a trade from the Cincinnati Bengals. This year Ocho Cinco is going about it in a different manner — he is ignoring the Bengals all together.Ocho Cinco is refusing to return calls from the coaching staff and teammates, including Carson Palmer, in hopes to get his point across that he wants out of Cincinnati. Well, it's time for Mike Brown and the front office to finally grant Ocho Cinco his wish. The market for a wide receiver in his 30s that lacks break away speed, is coming off an injury-plagued season, has questionable hands and is a cancer in the locker room is virtually non-existent. The teams that would take Ocho Cinco will only dwindle after the draft when all those teams address their receiving needs from the college ranks.Continue reading "Bengals must trade Ocho Cinco now"

Bengals Draft Preview: Defensive Line

Despite not trading up to get DT Sedrick Ellis in the 2008 NFL Draft, the Bengals still managed to upgrade the position (and add LB Keith Rivers) with 3rd rounder Pat Sims.  Sims is the run stuffer the team has lacked for years and combined with Domata Peko, has provided the Bengals with their best defensive tackle combination since Tim Krumrie was playing (of course you could argue...

The Basketball Jones: Episode 420

On today's show, Tas and I question the Pistons' desire, Detroit's chances against the Cavaliers, how Flip Saunders will fit with the Wizards and whether Mike Brown should play his starters Wednesday vs Philly.

Will the Bengals Trade Chad Johnson?

Last offseason, Cincinnati Bengals receiver Chad Ocho Cinco Johnson was begging and pleading (or was he demanding?) to be traded. This offseason, we haven’t heard a word from Chad and suddenly there are rumblings that he could be headed out of town — maybe to the Philadelphia Eagles. That’s what ESPN’s Michael Smith was saying [...]

At least we aren't Bengals fans

I can see some people in Philly getting a few ideas from this one. It seems that fans in Cincinnati are so fed up with the Bengals GM that they have put up billboards around the city pleading with the team to hire a real GM. Their current GM is Mike Brown and he's been there for 18 miserable seasons of Bengals football. Hopefully the Eagles keep the misery going with a win...

Isiah Thomas to Florida International

You probably wouldn't hire the head of AIG to run your bank. And you probably wouldn't hire ex-FEMA chief Mike Brown to run, well, anything. So you have to wonder... what the administration of Florida International University is thinking, hiring Isiah Thomas as their new head basketball coach. Thomas' basketball resume is stellar ...

Three Key Moments of the 09 Schedule from NFL.com

The Bengals open the season with a home game against the revamped Denver Broncos. Carson Palmer is expected to make his return from the elbow injury that kept him on the sidelines for almost all of 2008. The name Ochocinco will also make its official debut on the back of No. 85’s jersey. The Chicago Bears [...]

Will the Bears Dump Veteran FS Mike Brown?

From: Pro Football Weekly It’s possible the Bears might decide not to bring back veteran FS Mike Brown because of his age and injury history. But, as one team insider put it, “If they knew they could get 15 games out of him again next season, then bringing him back should be a no-brainer, considering how [...]

Open Thread: Cavaliers at Indiana Pacers

The second night of a back-to-back.  On the road.  And this Cavaliers team is coming off of one of the more talked about games of the second half, despite the fact that it had no bearing on the standings.  If you recall, the last game between the Cavs and Pacers ended with Mike Brown getting a [...]

The Future Meets the Present

Wrote a little something different this time out. Just trying to entertain and stay in my lane. This game was dig it playoff material. It’s astounding how the Cavs have taken over the league with fun, teamwork and Mike Brown defensive discipline. I noticed something this time out. I noticed all the interior picks the Cavs set to free up wing and elbow threes, kick outs to the...

Gosselin: Bengals Take Maclin Over Monroe

Rick Gosselin, the Dallas Morning News’ highly regarded NFL beat writer, has issued his first mock draft for 2009. His pick for the Bengals: 6. Cincinnati Bengals: Jeremy Maclin, WR, Missouri Bengals need WR/KR to replace T.J. Houshmandzadeh Maclin at six would certainly be an unexpected choice, and one that would likely be greeted with loud boos by Bengals [...]
