Does Hawaii have chance at Split National Championship

Hawaii has a good chance at the Split National Championship. All they have to do is blow out Georgia. OK I know that is not an easy task but they have a chance.

No, cause the lose to Georgia. Wait, the get routed.

Well, yes because if they beat Georgia convincly which is a top ten team they will get some respect.

Think about this.... The game is on Jan 1st. If they blowww out Georgia, that will give everyone 6 day to debate it, and Georgia is considered to be one of the best teams. Hawaii would get a lot of votes from rational voters that do not like the bcs system.

hate to break it to you, but even if they manage to beat georgia, they won't get the respect you think they will. due to their schedule strength and weak conference, whoever wins the bcs championship game will be the natl. champion. especially if it's lsu -- everyone seems to be in love with lsu this season. they could have probably lost 4 games and still somehow made it into the championship game.

You should have to play more than 2 ranked teams if you want to be considered for the National Championship. Cincy Sports, if you can name another team that can play 8 ranked teams and go 11-2, be my guest. The reason LSU is where they are, is because no other teams in the running played a schedule that strong.

actually, lsu played 7 ranked teams, not 8 -- and of those 7 teams they played, only 2 of those games were on the road...one they lost to kentucky, and the other they nearly lost to alabama. and of those 7 ranked teams they played, only 4 of them are still currently ranked. sure, ohio state only played 3 ranked teams this season, but all 3 were on the road -- and they won all 3. not to mention, their 1 loss came to illinois, who's now #13 in the latest BCS poll.

i'm not saying lsu doesn't deserve to be there...their schedule was very tough, and i won't argue that the sec from top-to-bottom is far better than the big 10.

my point was, that lsu's been everyone's "media darlings" this season -- which is proven by the fact that they were nearly the 1st team in college football history to be #1, three diff. times during the same season. which only further proves my point, that i think poll voters would have rather had lsu with 4 losses than a team like georgia or florida with 2 and 3 losses.

This is copied directly from one of my comments on the blog

"Hawaii has played a very bad schedule and they almost lost several times. That is why they are so lowly ranked.

I am on your side though. I believe that Hawaii has a chance. They just have to blow out Georgia.

They have to blow out Georgia because the " blow Out" means something to the voters. If you blow some one out, you must be the dominate team.

If Hawaii blows out Georgia on the 1st, everyone will be talking about how good Hawaii is till the 7th. Hawaii could lock up enough votes. If they barely beat Georgia on trick plays, there is no way they could jump in the polls.

That is what happened to Boise State last year."

We have never seen a small undefeated team blow out a big team in a BCS bowl. Until that happens, none of us will know. I think Hawaii will have a chance, but only with a " blowww out".

believe me, i'd love to see hawaii get some "props" if they beat georgia...i still, just don't see them being able to overtake either lsu or ohio state, no matter which of those 2 teams wins. either way, as long as the bcs trophy is still awarded to the winner of the bcs championship game (which it, undoubtedly is) hawaii's only shot at a split title is to overtake the winner of the bcs champ. game in the ap and coaches polls. maybe possible in the ap, but not the coaches. sorry to say, but only if hawaii wins by 60 plus, do they even have a shot at a split title.

No way. They barely got by the Huskies at home and should have lost that game.

hawaii have chance to spilt Nc .like me i have chance to spend christmas with my mother in law

I think you guys are forgetting who Georgia has played this year, every team Lsu played that georgia played Georgia stomped no overtime and no streaks of luck I think Ga has been overlooked alot in the polls. This is a team that has been in the top ten for the last five or six years and probably one of the most talented and youngest in the country. Now that being said football is football and Hawaii is a good team. I think that Georgia deserves to play Lsu or Ohio more but thats just my take I m biased I m a dog fan. I think LSU would've had three losses if they played Georgia in the SEC championship. Considering Georgia lost to who they lost to (both ranked teams)and Lsu lost to who they lost to I think Georgia deserves it more. But do I think Hawaii deserves a shot at the BCS if they beat Georgia AND still undefeated well come on boys dont let the BCS brainwash you of course they do.Remember how it was 8 yrs ago!!

I think you are forgetting that LSU played the number 3 team in the country Virginia Tech, and won by 40, so no, Georgia did not play everyone LSU played. You didn't beat Tennessee, so you didn't play in the conference championship. You had your chance and blew it. Don't blame the BCS.

no Hawaii sucks who cares if they went undefeated. They barely beat BsU and edged Washington who really sucks! Georgia would be in the National Champioship if they didn't lose to Tennesse.

If they go undefeated, they would be undefeated with a win over Georgia in the Sugar Bowl with everyone in the world watching. If they blow out Georgia they have a chance. If the season ended now, I would not give them a second look. They need a big win. They need a blow out.

Hey, if the Rainbow Warriors can beat Northern Colorado (doormat of the Big Sky Conference) and Charleston Southern (fourth best of the five teams in the "Big" South), then run the table in the WAC, they are capable of most anything! As John Lennon would say, "Imagine."

sorry, but if hawaii ever wants a realistic shot at a bcs champ., they have to either get better/ranked teams to come to hawaii...or hit the road and take on some tougher non-conference opponents. unfortunately, the wac just isn't strong enough to help them out if they "run the table".

ok lets face facts Hawaii isn't going to make it past GA yes the warriors have did good but who did they play this year? no one. GA plays in the SEC its one of the hardest conferences in the states it ain't going to happen GA will win with no problem Hawaii ain't even ready for whats going to happen
