NE Patriots Draft:
According to draft guru Rick Gosselin, who NE Patriots Draft interviewed earlier this month, the Patriots will take Sedrick Ellis with the 7th pick in the draft. As we've talked about before here, adding Dorsey or Ellis would give us added flexibility in switching up our fronts. Gosselin was correct with picking Meriweather to the Patriots last year, so we'll see if he can go two in a row.

It's just good NE actually has a pick after all the pending and past indiscretions LOL...Jenkins or McKelvin is who I would like them to draft, A top-notch CB...or LB which this year is weak for drafting...Gholston was slammed by Hoge this morning as a much over-rated player who has talent but not an animal on field...I like Ellis sure...who is going to draft DMcFadden is one the most intriguing picks today-obvious...the 7th pick for NE?...that high, dont you take the most talented player no matter what position...who knows...can't wait...NE will have their picks even though they might have a dismantled franchise the rookies can't play for...laughs

was a joke about dismantle, LOL, as they had nice little draft start with picks they had, as that FO is still top-notch given events...franchises perservere unless they run out of dough...whatever for now, draft was real entertaining and congrats Five on getting Jenkins as secondary is equal to all in NFC East easy...ne got what they needed and have read a little on all CB's in draft and the Wolverine looks raw, but talented as you state...best case, he is an Asante clone...that draft 1st round was odd also as their were several teams where I was shaking my head and saying most FO's wouldn't do that...and you knew Oakland would get DMcFadden...yeah Five, if status quo and team can 100% clean slate it, NE is undeniably a top five team....shoot, oh yeah Ellis?.. .unless team's philosophy was great depth on D-line, saw no needs for those 3 positions on a 3-4 as D-line is strength of ne D...

What's up Yard?!
Been busy the last couple days. Knocked out my midterms in Econ and did a bunch of interviews today - two on ESPN, a couple on the radio and one with a New England Patriots blog.
I leave tomorrow morning for Lake Mary, FL where I will take in the draft with my family and friends. My brother Gary has been putting much of it together for me while I'm working...
Patriots Bread and Butter: Wheat-ley and Mayo
To go with the linebacker they drafted at number ten, Jerod Mayo, the Patriots selected Terrence Wheatley (S, Colorado). Wheatley is a quick-twitch athlete that is in the in the same mold as former Patriot Asasnte Samuel -- small, agile, great ballskills and an average tackler. That being said, Wheatley has some durability issues with his wrist, as he has had multiple surgeries....
Patriots D: Extra Mayo Please
With the 10th pick, the Patriots picked Jerod Mayo (6-2/230) from the University of Tennessee. Mayo combines athletecism with good football instincts, and should be able to start for a starting job inside right away. He has shown fluidness in coverage that will be a welcome addition to the linebacking corps. He struggles at times to fight off guards in the running game, but Vince...
Trojan Horse: An Interview with Keith Rivers
James Christensen of NE Patriots Draft chats with Keith Rivers about his visit with the Patriots, his position in the NFL, and what he'll be up to on Draft Day.
Salary Cap: Mayo on Sale
Looking at the salary cap implications of moving down from number seven to number ten, Patriots fans have to be very happy with their team's savvy moves on day one of the NFL Draft. Last year, these are how the surrounding picks made out in terms of money.
Is Seau in the Pats plans?
With the New England Patriots selecting Jerod Mayo with the 10th pick in the NFL Draft, do the New England Patriots still have plans for Junior Seau? During the playoffs, it was obvious that the Pats needed to get younger at the linebacker position, which is the reason they selected Mayo, a University of Tennessee product. We all know thou, that coach Bill Belichick usually doesn...
Could Sedrick Ellis Be The Pick?
DT Sedrick Ellis has been getting a ton of attention around the nation, and I am starting to realize he might be the pick for the Chiefs. He made his teammates better and anchored a great USC defense. Unlike everyone’s favorite, Ryan Sims, where Julius Peppers made him look better than John Hen...
For Trojans, dollars will show sense of returning to school
There were many reasons to be glad at USC’s Pro Day on Wednesday. Football coach Pete Carroll didn’t take long to come up with 50 million, maybe 60 million, of them for Sedrick Ellis, Keith Rivers and Fred Davis, who all chose to come back and play at USC their senior years. “Probab...
