Houston Texans: Brian Cushing video

Posted April 26, 2009 on nfldraft's Blog:
Mark Sanchez is so dreamy even Brian Cushing gets questions about him.

PS: This video includes my favorite moment of the draft so far. Maybe 45 or 30 seconds before the end. Some still photographer pushes his way in front of a few people shooting video, and when I used my foot to gently speak for me, as in, "Yo, get out of the way," he didn't take to it too kindly, and to make it even better, his whispered precursor to the "let's take this outside threat" that came later sounds great.

This one comes from friend and former "CortSide" broadcast partner, Stuart Millstein, who is now employed by CBS Sports. Stu dropped this gem on me right after his Jets traded up from number 17 to five to grab Mark Sanchez. It's the new Jets quarterback and Kelly Ripa's husband, Mark Consuelos.

Of Golden Arms and Golden Girls

There were two major stories this weekend: The NFL draft was one. The other, obviously, was the passing of Bea Arthur. (Swine Flu is a distant third. Wear a condom, pigs!) Wake Forest outside linebacker Aaron Curry was called the “Can’t miss prospect of 2009″ by many. Redskins Draft Defensive End in First Round; Hell Freezes Over

Hallelujah! I was skeptical when the Redskins signed a huge contract to make a big splash to grab high-priced Free Agent Albert Haynesworth.  I just didn’t think he would be able to turn things around all by himself, and obviously our record of signing big name free agents isn’t exactly perfect. However, the Redskins finally did the sensible thing and avoided the temptation...

Thats It! First round of the 2009 NFL Draft is Over

The first round is over! Whew! What a rush. That was great. We saw six receivers get drafted in the first round this year, after not a single receiver went in the first round last year. The NFL Draft Has Officially Jumped The Shark

I don't know if it's ESPN's terrible Day One coverage, the length of the thing or the lack of suspense during picks, but I think the NFL Draft is now officially unwatchable. Hour after hour, it's picks being ruined by ESPN or the NFL Network showing kids getting calls on their cell phone, and analysts making up ridiculous phrases to describe said draft picks. I...
