Just a few topics of interest this late Monday evening. • As expected, center David Molk has been cleared to practice this week and is likely to at least be in uniform this weekend for Penn State. • RB Brandon Minor will also likely be fine for Penn State. His status for Delaware State last weekend was a game-time scratch. Just a precautionary measure. • Same can be said for QB Tate Forcier. At the post-game presser, Rodriguez told the media that if needed, Tate could have been good to go for the whole game. • RB Carlos Brown was day-to-day with lingering effects of his concussion which he sustained in practice a couple weeks ago. Word is, he will be ready to go for Penn State. • Interesting story: Delaware State had to concede a loss to fellow conference foe North Carolina A&T in order to play Michigan last weekend. Originally, NC A&T was their scheduled opponent for last weekend. But the prospect of funding their entire athletic department for the next 2 yea...

Baby Seals

10/17/2009 – Michigan 63, Delaware State 6 – 5-2, 1-2 Big Ten   This what everyone wanted after last year's decision to schedule Utah didn't go as planned and Michigan slumped to a 3-9 record: a tomato can's tomato can. Someone to take lunch money or candy from. A baby seal to club, and then club some more, and then club some more until David Cone's lyrical...

FNL: AA Pioneer @ Chelsea

Last Friday, I got my third opportunity to check out 2010 Michigan commit Ricardo Miller in person, as the Ann Arbor Pioneer Pioneers (we're from Pioneer!) traveled to Chelsea to take on Michigan State commit Nick Hill and the Chelsea Bulldogs. Ricardo Miller caught 4 passes for 123 yards and a touchdown in a 45-9 Pioneer victory. First, since it's what everyone cares about...

Wednesday Presser Notes: 10-21

Personnel David Molk practiced in pads yesterday. He will start against Penn State on Saturday. David Moosman will move to right guard, with Perry Dorrestein and Mark Huyge competing for the right tackle spot. Tate Forcier and Carlos Brown should be fully recovered from all their injuries. Minor's injury is still nagging, but he should be healthy enough to play (as he has...

Monday Quick Hits: Molk to Practice This Week, Could Play Against PSU

David Molk has been cleared to practice, and depending on how he does this week, he may play against Penn State.  Molk broke his foot about a month ago against Eastern Michigan, and he has quickly recovered and is now in position to return to the starting lineup.  It would be great to get Molk [...]

Unverified Voracity Pulls Around

Programming note: the Martin news and AD search was clearly more important than slapping up half of the Delaware State UFR, so both halves will land tomorrow. A couple AD clarifications. The thing about Dave Brandon politicizing the AD position was not meant to suggest a staunch anything couldn't run the department—Bo, good God. The thing is: Brandon almost made a run for...

Injured U-M center may play Saturday

Ann Arbor --Michigan starting center David Molk, who missed the last four games while recovering from a broken foot, is expected to practice this week.

An obligatory look at Michigan

About the University The university was founded in 1817 in Detroit as the Catholepistemiad, or University of Michigania, about 20 years before the Michigan Territory officially became a state. The university moved to Ann Arbor in 1837 onto 40 acres of what is now known as Central Campus. So Michigan (the university) was around before Michigan (the state)?!? You just blew my mind...
