Anyone that has followed my blog, whether reading it all the time or here and there, would know that I do like ESPN. Yes, I am one of those that thinks the World Leader in Sports is given a bad rap by many. But, just as I do like the Bristol based company, I have also taken shots at them when I thought they were wrong.

As I do every morning, I am reading the stories posted on Tar Heel Times, when I have to stop and read an article, that while it has nothing to do with a team, I thought it was pretty cool.

The Atlantic Coast Conference has announced its "Players of the Week" for football, and for the second time (last week UNC didn't play) in as many weeks a Tar Heel got the Specialist Award.

It is time to once again move forward in this year's football season and begin to think about who is coming up for the Tar Heels. It is going to be a home game against Virginia Tech, and these are my "First Thoughts" about the game.
