The one time I think I have an original idea and it takes me only two minutes to realize I'm late to the scene yet again. The college bowl season has ended and BCS talk is still a hot topic, with everyone from coaches, school presidents and athletic directors to the media throwing out their thoughts on what a perfect system would look like.

  • Too many people will lose money if we go away from the 5,000 bowl games we have now. I agree we deserve more, but big wigs wont let it happen. $$$ rules all.
  • I think there were 32-34 bowl games this season. This playoff system would have 8 in the first round, plus 7 more games that really could be eliminated. So let's keep another 20 bowl games with lower ranked and unranked teams that would lead up to the 4 week long playoff. That's 56 or half of all D-1 schools in bowl games. Here are some links to articles that show how schools actually lose money with travel on some of the lower tier games and how fans suffer from so many games:
