Cowboys Gab:
It didn't take long for Adam "Pacman" Jones to get involved in an off-field incident once getting cleared to play football again in the NFL.A The Dallas Morning News printed confirmed reports of he and one of his bodyguards getting into an altercation outside his hotel room on Tuesday night.
The still-unnamed bodyguard refused to press charges and there apparently will not be any filed by the police either, so it will most likely not lead to any type of punishment from the NFL.A Whether the Cowboys and Wade Phillips will take any action remains to be seen, but my guess is nothing will come from the episode.A
CB Terrence Newman is awaiting test results to see if he will require possible season-ending surgery after being diagnosed with a sports hernia earlier in the week.A Newman, who has already missed most of training camp and the Cowboys' first game at Cleveland with a groin strain, will not start this Sunday against the Cardinals.A A He did play in theA last two games for Dallas, but was burned for several long pass plays against Washington and has not seemedA in perfect health yet this season.A It might beA bestA for him to get the surgery done quickly so that he could be available for any post-season games.
Rookie Mike Jenkins has been playing well, but Adam Jones will most likely be the starter in Newman's place, which is another reason why it is highly unlikely the Cowboys will pursue any kind of punishment against him for the Tuesday night blow-up.
