Alabama WR Jermaine Burton Trolls Georgia Student Section After SEC Championship
Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

For Alabama WR Jermaine Burton the SEC Championship game was personal. He was a transfer from Georgia and really wanted to beat his former team and snap their winning streak. The Crimson Tide came out on top thanks to an all-around great performance. After the game, Burton trolled the Georgia student section.

While the rest of the team celebrated on the field, Burton walked over to the end zone that housed the Georgia student section. He trolled them with a heartbreak gesture before being encouraged to go back to celebrate with his team. Burton didn’t have a huge stat line with only two catches for 28 yards but one of those catches was a touchdown on a nice ball from Jalen Milroe. It was a great victory for the Crimson Tide and now they wait on the decision from the College Football Playoff committee.

Should They Be In?

The resume is there. The conference pedigree is there. It is the loss to Texas at home that is the best case to leave them out. The Longhorns won the Big 12 and have been ranked ahead of Nick Saban’s team all year. While both have one loss and are the conference champions, the fact that Texas has the head-to-head win is what might keep them out. No matter what happens it is going to be a huge debate because someone is going to get left out.

There are many out there that think Alabama should be a shoo-in. Unfortunately, there are many quality teams out there and at some point, regular season results matter. The Crimson Tide anxiously awaits the committee’s decision but beating Georgia has to feel good regardless of what happens.
