Arkansas State coach Blake Anderson recovered from coronavirus

Arkansas State football coach Blake Anderson told reporters that he was directly affected by the coronavirus outbreak that cost the team back-to-back scheduled games.

Per ESPN, Anderson added that he has recovered since testing positive on Sept. 16.

"We've dealt with positive cases in the past. This was really the first time we dealt with a lot of guys who actually felt sick, including myself," Anderson explained about the outbreak. "I tested positive and ran a fever for 10 days. And I know that's going to take a lot of people by surprise, I didn't announce it like Mike Norvell did, but at the time there were a lot of other things going on and we knew we weren't going to be playing (Central Arkansas)."

Anderson became the second FBS coach behind Florida State's Norvell to disclose he tested positive for the virus.

Arkansas State postponed its Sept. 19 matchup with Central Arkansas because the Red Wolves were "unable to assemble a full two-deep depth chart at a specific position group due to player unavailability." Similar issues involving positive tests, symptoms and contact tracing resulted in the program postponing last Saturday's contest against Tulsa.

Arkansas State will now face Central Arkansas on Oct. 10.

As of Tuesday afternoon, 1-1 Arkansas State is still scheduled to play a road game at 2-0 Coastal Carolina this coming Sunday.
