As Other WRs Acknowledge UW Possibilities, Polk Remains Noncommital

Every University of Washington wide receiver is different in how he does things, especially when it comes to addressing his future.

Giles Jackson is definitely coming back in 2024, using a sixth year of eligibility.

Rome Odunze, with a year left if he wants it, is all but gone once the College Football Playoff is over and no one hides that fact, let alone him.

Jalen McMillan is open to leaving or staying at the UW, whatever seems most advantageous when the Husky season ends.

Then there's Ja'Lynn Polk — he prefers not to address this subject at all.

"I'm going to play for my brothers right now," he said. "That's the main focus, going to handle business for January 1."

Asked if a postseason decision was forthcoming, Polk said, "We're just going to keep going and grinding on to the next."

No decision?

"We're going to see," Polk finally acknowledged.

This Luling, Texas, product, a 6-foot-2, 204-pound sophomore, has had to do more this season with McMillan going down with a knee injury and needing more than two months to return to form.

Polk brings a career-best 60 catches for 1,000 yards and 8 scores in the Sugar Bowl, with a season of ups and downs. He had a season-high 9 catches for 102 yards against Arizona State. He went catch-less in consecutive games against Oregon State and Washington State, dropping several balls.

With the dip in his play, he might need to return in 2024 to elevate his draft standing.

Yet, as Polks says, we're going to see.
