After the Auburn Tigers landed transfer offensive lineman Percy Lewis via the transfer portal, they had one of the largest tackles in the SEC.

The former Mississippi State offensive lineman is listed at 6-foot-7, 355 pounds and is the clear favorite to start at left tackle for Hugh Freeze's second season on The Plains. He said he's been next to offensive guard Dillon Wade.

"He's an SEC player," Lewis said to media this week. "You know he played in the SEC and he knows what goes on. I feel like (we) work side by side, you're going to see when the lights come on."

Wade played left tackle for Auburn a season ago after transferring from Tulsa. Now with Lewis joining the offensive line room, Wade is now slotted to play guard.

Lewis discussed how the offensive line is spending a lot of time outside of football together.

"These jokers like to eat, man. We go out to eat every other day," Lewis said with a smile. "Team bonding, we've really come together like brothers.

"I just try to go with them as much as I can and every time I go it is a good time."

Lewis played in all 12 games for Mississippi State last season. He played 437 offensive snaps, 235 of those were passing downs. He allowed two sacks, four hurries, and one quarterback hit for Mississippi State a season ago.

Auburn's projected starting offensive line going into the second full week of Spring Camp is Lewis at left tackle, Wade at left guard, Connor Lew at center, Jeremiah Wright at right guard, and Izavion Miller at right tackle.
