MADISON, Wis. Wisconsin defensive end David Gilbert will pay a small price for critical comments he made Wednesday night concerning Nebraska quarterback Taylor Martinez.Badgers coach Bret Bielema said Thursday that Gilbert would sit out the first play of Saturday's game as a lesson for his poor word choice.Regarding Martinez, Gilbert told ESPNWisconsin.com, "it still looks like he's skipping rocks out there to me. He still can't throw. He's not going to beat us with his arm."Gilbert was referencing Martinez's proclivity for dropping down and throwing sidearm. This season, Martinez has completed 65 of 92 passes (70.7 percent) for 878 yards with nine touchdowns and one interception. But Martinez struggled mightily against Wisconsin last season during a 48-17 loss at Camp Randall Stadium. He completed just 11 of 22 throws for 176 yards and three interceptions."A D-lineman maybe doesn't see the things that we've seen, the growth of that kid,&...

Wisconsin star LB Borland a quick study

MADISON, Wis. In football parlance, the "A" gap is the space between a team's center and its guards on the offensive line. It is among the most basic of terminologies, and for a college linebacker, understanding the difference in gaps is supposed to be second nature, as easy as pumping gas or tying a shoelace.Chris Borland insists that when he came to Wisconsin, such...

Gilbert Benched For Martinez Comments

According to the Wisconsin State Journal starting defensive end David Gilbert will not be the starter on Saturday against Taylor Martinez and the rest of the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Why? Well, because he decided to call out the Huskers QB for amongst other things, being "soft" and "still looking like he's skipping rocks out there." In making his announcement...

A Wisconsin "Gangham Style" parody? Of course there is.

Wisconsin is in panic mode right now. It lost to Oregon State. Overhyped quarterback Danny O'Brien has been benched in favor of Joel Stave. Tailback Montee Ball is dealing with a concussion. What's the best thing that Wisconsin students can do at a time like this? Make a pathetic "Gangnam Style" parody video, of course. This is obvious proof Wisconsin...

Nebraska set to wear color changing cleats against Wisconsin

This weekend when Nebraska faces off against Wisconsin, they will wear cleats that change from black to silver when in the light. The uniforms, however, are not so great. Wisconsin will also be wearing some alternate uniforms. Adidas is obviously trying to step up their game a little bit and compete with Nike. Here come the recruits. [SBNation]

Uniform look: Wisconsin, Nebraska go bold

When the 2012 college football schedules were released last year, Mark Daniels spotted an opportunity. Daniels, the Director of Football for Adidas, noticed Wisconsin and Nebraska two Adidas-sponsored schools were slated to open Big Ten play for a second straight season. He figured the teams would garner a primetime television slot. He also figured it was the perfect time for...

Huskers, Badgers bracing for emotional B10 opener

It's not as if Saturday night's Wisconsin-Nebraska game needs more buildup. After all, it's the Big Ten opener, the 22nd-ranked Cornhuskers (3-1) are looking to pay back the two-time defending champion Badgers (3-1) for the beat-down they got last year, and both teams will wear alternate uniforms for the first time. A little more spice was added to the budding rivalry...
