(AP Photo/Phil Sears) #8 Florida State hosts BCU in the Seminoles’ only match-up against a FCS school this season Florida State gets set to host Bethune-Cookman on Saturday in the Seminoles’ final game before a slew of seven straight ACC games. The Wildcats will become the third FCS school to visit Doak Campbell Stadium in two seasons. Florida State is fresh off a 62-7 victory over Nevada, a contest in which the Seminoles scored the game’s final 59 points. Bethune-Cookman however, is also coming off a convincing victory after throttling Florida International 34-13 on Saturday. Despite being a huge underdog, the Wildcats will arrive in Tallahassee with a ton of confidence on Saturday as they face eighth-ranked FSU. Florida State overcame a sluggish start against Nevada last week to finish with 377 yards rushing with a team-high 110 coming from converted safety Karlos Williams. Jameis Winston was once again efficient at quarterback throwing for 214 yards and two scores while rushing for another. Winston overcame a slow start himself and his first career interception to complete his final 13 passes of the day. The FSU defense also came to life in the second half allowing just 72 yards total over the final 30 minutes. While Saturday’s upcoming contest doesn’t look to present a real challenge for Florida State, here are Saturday’s keys to Seminole success: Arrive on Time and Ready to Work Florida State seemed to sleepwalk through the early parts of its home-opener and trailed Nevada 7-3 more than midway through the second quarter. With a slate of more important ACC games on the horizon for the Seminoles, it would be easy for FSU not to get overly hyped for Bethune-Cookman. The Seminoles have got off to slow starts against FCS schools in the past including having to win a nail-biter against Jacksonville State in 2009. Bethune-Cookman is coming off a big win over a FBS school and the Seminoles need not allow the Wildcats to believe that they can notch an even bigger one. If Florida State can come out focused, this one should be put away relatively quickly. Fun for Everyone Saturday should present Florida State an opportunity to play a lot of players as it did last week against Nevada. While Bethune-Cookman isn’t likely to shock the world, getting some of the underclassmen into the game will help add to Florida State’s depth as the season goes along. Karlos Williams, Ryan Green and Freddie Stevenson each scored their first career touchdowns a week ago and Saturday should present another opportunity for a number of younger and less prominent Seminoles to see the field and perhaps even find the end zone. Work Out the Kinks Saturday’s game with Bethune-Cookman should give the Florida State coaching staff an opportunity to shore up any issues that the Seminoles may have had through two weeks in terms of assignments, personnel or any other areas of uncertainty. Things have appeared to run pretty smoothly through two weeks for the Seminoles on both sides of the ball, but with important conferences games upcoming and a mid-October date with Clemson less than a month away, Saturday should give Jimbo Fisher and the FSU coaching staff a final opportunity to fix any areas of concern.
