Previewing Week 10 in the Big Ten. There isn’t really a marquee game this weekend, but there are some intriguing match ups like Northwestern at Nebraksa and Michigan at Iowa.

James Vandenberg (16) and Marcus Coker (34)

Michigan at Iowa: I have no feel for this game whatsoever…I want to say UM because they have a better defense…but the Big Ten teams have not done well on the road within the conference this year…8-18…UM is 1-1..Iowa is 5-0 at home but has played nobody there…UM will be playing 6 freshmen on defense this week..Troy Woolfolk moves to safety, Carvin Johnson left the team, Jordan Kovacs may or may not play so secondary depth is gone and Iowa QB James Vandenberg has only thrown 4 INT’s this year with 17 TD’s…and HB Marcus Coker coming off a huge 252 yard rushing attack…..UM kicks last minute FG to edge Iowa 38-36….

Minnesota at Michigan State: The Spartans return home where they are 5-0 in 2011 to face a Minnesota team that…well, let’s be honest…we have no idea how they will play after the upset win over Iowa last week…Dantonio is 1-1 vs Minnesota and won last year in East Lansing 31-8…Unless Kirk Cousins decides to play this game with a blindfold on, the Spartans will win this game…in fact, that can be said for the rest of their games…they really need to focus on getting the running game going…it is just take one game at a time and focus on your opponent and you will be in Indianapolis in the first week of December…MSU wins 34-7.

Indiana at Ohio State: OK…IU hasn’t beaten OSU since 1988…that is 16 straight losses, a tie and then another loss to start the streak…The Hoosiers have only scored more than 3 times vs OSU twice in those 18 games…and it was the first two games of the streak…they lost 35-31 in 1989 and tied at 27 in 1990…since then they have mustered 17 points 4 times…after last weeks emotional W for the Buckeyes…this is the exact type of game they need to get some steam rolling heading into the final month of the season…I just have a tiny nagging…..thing eating away at me for some reason about this game…but I choose to ignore it..OSU 33-10

Northwestern at Nebraska: Nebraska is one of the teams, in my opinion, that is really getting it’s stuff together…and it just happens to be at the right time of year too…The Cats can offensively hang with anyone the way they move the ball…but can hang with absolutely no one defensively…..the first pattern might get you to a bowl game with a 6-6 or a 7-5 record..as Michigan fans have discovered…but the later pattern wins you conference titles and BCS appearances…the more I think about it the more I am disappointed in Pat Fitzgeralds teams…I wish they were better defensively…I want to cheer for NW….but the Kids in the Corn will handle NW…50-24.

Purdue at Wisconsin: I would not want to be Danny Hope this week…although Wisconsin’s dreams of going undefeated and representing the Big Ten in the BCS National Championship game are no longer realistic…they can still win the conference title and go to a BCS game…but two heart-breaking, pulverizing road losses have them very eager to return to Camp Randall Stadium…a place where the Boilermakers haven’t won since 2003 and a place the Badgers haven’t lost in over two years…14 straight games….my guess is you will see a steady diet (a new term to the Badger football players) of Ball & White…the Badger wins 42-13.
