Deion Sanders had interesting desire during first season at Colorado

Deion Sanders drew a lot of attention to himself and his Colorado Buffaloes during his first season as the program’s head coach. Colorado began the year 3-0, and its games generated humongous ratings. During that time, Sanders received endorsement deals. He also was featured in the second season of Amazon Prime Video’s “Coach Prime” docuseries.

With all the attention on him, Sanders admitted to People in a recent interview that he wishes he had a little more privacy, though he doesn’t regret having the spotlight because it comes with the territory.

“You always wish that you had a little more privacy, but the same thing that makes you shine will show your blemishes,” Sanders told People.

“So, you’ve got to take the good with the bad. You can’t just want everyone there when the hype machine is rolling, you have to understand there’s another side to this.”

Although Colorado had a hot start to the season, things changed once the conference season began. The Buffs went 1-8 in Pac-12 play as they found themselves struggling to keep up with the more established teams. The luster and attention slowly faded from the Buffs, and by the end of the season, they were no longer a hot topic each week, so Sanders did start to receive some privacy. He probably wishes he had less of that if it meant his team were winning more.
