Now before anyone gets too excited about today’s headline, let me first be the bearer of bad news: Coach K is not involved in this story in any way. The Raleigh News-Observer is reporting that the Duke football team has offered a scholarship to Class of 2015 wideout Cordell Broadus, better known as the son of Calvin Broadus, better known as Snoop Dogg. (Yeah, yeah, it’s Snoop Lion now, but I’m gonna guess it won’t be by the time Cordell heads to campus somewhere). Though he’s still a couple years away from graduating, we can only hope Lil’ Snoop takes Duke up on its offer. The mere thought of Snoop wandering around at a staid, uptight place like Duke is the next great reality show waiting to happen. The best part? If Broadus does go to Duke, he would not be the only musician’s son on the team. Hud Mellencamp, son of John, is a walk-on defensive back for the Blue Devils. Which reminds me — Indiana’s indoor practice facility is named after John Mellencamp, and they still can’t get his son to come? Anyway, we can only hope that this becomes Duke football’s “thing.” Imagine the scene if Blanket Jackson gets offered one of these days…

  • Ahhh the troubles and hardships of a little kid RAPPER....is to be taken about as serious as picking your nose trying to reach that big FLAPPER and you constantly hear about them on again off again ones with careers having the characteristics of the CLAPPER and there are many of them that try to make it big but they suck as bad as a motorcycle race LAPPER or getting syrup from a maple tree SAPPER and they have no true coordinates going to and fro like a broken MAPPER but some are persistent and search for info to succeed as does the private investigator phone TAPPER but when you hear some of them sing you will immediately want them to shut their YAPPER and some are boring enough that everyone who listens to their stuff will immediately get sleepy and become an all-day NAPPER but sometimes you cannot blame the kids because their parent's suck, and so does their granny and PAPPER but the fact of the matter is that true child abuse must STOP because children deserve to be treated good and with the utmost kindness of the Hibbity, Dibbity, BOP, and a Pee, Pie, Po, POP!!!!!!!
  • WTF!?!? aren't scholarships for kids whos parents CANNOT afford to send them to these schools???
