Brady Hoke was asked during his weekly radio segment on 97.1 why he doesn’t wear a headset more often on the sidelines. “It is overrated,” Hoke said. “You ever watch guys on headsets? They don’t say a word. This gives me an opportunity to coach kids during the course of a game. The game is a mental game. It’s a game of emotion and enthusiasm, a game of teaching. No. 1, not wearing a headset, I get to teach on the sideline, and I get to be a real part of it. The other thing is, I do know what the calls are, because there’s a guy standing right behind me who tells me every call that’s going in.”
Junior defensive tackle Nathan Brink suffered an undisclosed injury in practice and is out indefinitely.
Devin Gardner has a touchdown reception in 3 of Michigan’s 4 games this season.
The 20 point threshold: Under Brady Hoke, Michigan is 13-0 when they score 20 points or more and 0-4 when they do not.

Michigan – Purdue U 59
I’ve seen all four Michigan games this season and I’ll assume that HC Brady Hoke knows what he is doing in trying to turn Denard Robinson into a pocket passer, but I’ll admit I am not seeing it. Robinson definitely does not look comfortable in the pocket and his passing numbers have suffered. His pass efficiency is down, his completion percentage is...
Michigan 44, Purdue 13
Denard Robinson rushed for 235 yards and Fitzgerald Toussaint scored twice to help Michigan rout Purdue 44-13 on Saturday afternoon.
The Wolverines (3-2, 1-0 Big Ten) have won three straight over Purdue.
The Boilermakers (3-2, 0-1 Big Ten) lost at home for only the second time since Oct. 1, 2011.
It was a banner day for Robinson in his first game back from a dismal performance...

OSU rips Mitt Romney and Michigan in ad
If you want to see how serious of a battleground state Ohio will be during the 2012 Presidential election. Look no further than the Ohio State student newspaper, The Lantern, and a full-page ad that ran in its Friday, October 5th edition feature a picture of Mitt Romney and the quote, “I have been a Michigan and a Wolverine fan for a long, long time.”
The ad was sponsored...
"A throw away can be a good play" (w/video)
Michigan senior quarterback Denard Robinson has been the center of scrutiny and praise throughout his career as a Wolverine. With really high highs and very low lows, if Michigan hopes to win the Big Ten, Robinson will need to find a middle ground. **With VIdeo**
Brady Hoke doesn't like headsets.
A lot of college football coaches wear headsets on the field, getting pivotal information for calling plays and whatnot. Don't include Michigan head football coach Brady Hoke in that category, though. He thinks wearing headsets on the sideline is "overrated."
“It is overrated,” Hoke said today, during his weekly radio segment on
WXYT-FM (97.1). “You ever...

A broken record: Michigan’s run offense
The Michigan Wolverines run offense is a broken record. Week after week everyone one keeps talking about how they have to get it together. I, myself are guilty as that as well. If they do not get something going the B1G schedule is going to get real rough. With Denard Robinson having 59.8 percent of their rushing yards through the first four games, teams will be looking to dial...
Robinson leads Wolverines in rout of Purdue
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) -- Denard Robinson looked like his old, efficient self Saturday.
The Michigan quarterback rushed 24 times for 235 yards, threw for one touchdown and helped lead the Wolverines to a 44-13 rout at Purdue.
It was a stark contrast to the frustrated quarterback who wound up apologizing for his sub-par performance at Notre Dame two weeks ago.
But with two weeks...
DD's Pigskin Preview: Michigan at Purdue
Michigan (2-2) @ Purdue (3-1) (4 p.m. ET, BTN)
Line: Michigan -3
Last meeting: Michigan 36-14 (2011)
3 Players to Watch:
1) Denard Robinson (QB, Michigan): On average, he chucks up two picks per game. Last time out against Notre Dame, Robinson threw four intercpetions. He is increasingly becoming a liability for the Michigan offense. If Michigan is...
Hoke hoping practice translates (w/video)
Michigan Head Coach Brady Hoke is encouraged but not satisfied with the defensive performance against Notre Dame. The man in charge of the Wolverines got back to basics in practice over the past couple weeks hoping to create more consistent play heading into the Big Ten.
Borges: “We can win the Big Ten” (w/video)
Michigan offensive coordinator Al Borges believes that if the Wolverines play the way they’re capable of they can win the Big Ten—however, Denard Robinson and the offense will need to be much better in order to do it.
Michigan searching for offensive rhythm
ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- For Michigan, the real season starts on Saturday.
Sure, there might have been Wolverines fans dreaming of a berth in the national-championship game, but those were dashed pretty quickly by Alabama. After that, the goal has been what Brady Hoke always said it was -- a trip to Indianapolis for a shot at the Big Ten title.
If Michigan wants to get there, they are...
Michigan defense is back to basics
Michigan defensive players Desmond Morgan, Jordan Kovacs and Kenny Demens talk about the defensive focus on pursuit drills and playing as a cohesive unit against the Boilermakers Saturday.
Michigan at Purdue: Three Bold Predictions
Michigan and Purdue both enter their first game of Big Ten play this Saturday.Purdue is coming off of a 51-41 victory over Marshall, and Michigan is coming off a disappointing 13-6 loss to Notre Dame back on September 22. Purdue has opened the eyes of many around the country with it's very impressive 3-1 start to the season. Whereas Michigan has been a bit of a disappointment...
